Basically standardized the Saginaw Valley station. The tripod was already aligned properly. Replaced Temp/RH, Wind Sentry, Soil Temps, and Pyronemeter. Added Leaf Wetness A and Soil Moisture Probes. Moved Soil Temperature Sensors and Pyranomter arm. Solar Panel and Radiation shields were left alone. More details follow. General condition: Site was in good condition. No problems with any weeds or tall grass. A portion of the site is covered with mulch. There is a plot of rhubarb to the west which might be used as a canopy for Leaf Wetness B (when that is installed). No major difficulties with the update. - jtb - Leaf Wetness A: New Hardware - Bracket mounted 3-feet from center of tripod, 39-inches (~1m) high. Mounted on NE leg, sensor facing north. - Leaf Wetness B: Not Installed - Soil Temp A: Existing Hardware - Relocated current sensor. Installed at 2-inch depth, west of south leg, north of Soil Temp B. Soil cover=wood chips. - Soil Temp B: Existing Hardware - Relocated current sensor. Installed at 4-inch depth, west of south leg, south of Soil Temp A. Soil cover=wood chips. - Soil Moisture A: New Hardware - Probe installed east of south leg, approx. one foot north of Soil Moisture B. Soil cover=wood chips. - Soil Moisture B: New Hardware - Probe installed east of South leg, approx. one foot south of Soil Moisture A. Soil cover=wood chips. - Air Temp/RH: New Hardware - Replaced HMP35C with calibrated HMP35C. Shield is installed with a height of 61.25" to 8th plate. This is normally installed at 59", but the shield can not be installed at the height due to the leg extensions of the tripod. (requires mawn1a) - Wind Vane: New Hardware - Points to North - Anemometer: New Hardware - Points to South - Pyranometer: New Hardware - Existing mounting bracket relocated to point to the SW. Bottom of bracket is is ??" above tripod bracket. - Solar Panel: Existing Hardware - Currently installed on south leg, facing south (leads not long enough to mount high on the mast). - Precipitation: Existing Hardware - Currently installed SW corner of station plot. - Modem: Existing Hardware - tip => ??? - ring => ??? - ground => ??? - number => 517-781-9656 - Needs: Leaf Wetness B ==============================================================================
