- Replaced logger battery.
- Battery issues led to recent data loss.
- Repaired tipping-bucket rain gauge, replaced funnel.
- Due to failure, precipitation data was lost during the
following time period:
09/07/2012 [d=251] 00:05 - 09/24/2012 [d=268] 16:25
- Loaded MAWN Program - ABCF (hourly collection cycle)
- MAWN Program "ABCW" loaded:
- 3-hour power/collection cycle
- soil moisture data back online
- Soil Moisture probes replaced (CS615 to CS616).
- Before soil moisture data is recorded, MAWN program
will need to be updated.
- Site visit to correct recent communication trouble.
- As of 07/13/2011 1400, station back online. However,
data recorded during the following time period was
lost due to the outage:
06/22/2011 (d=173) 0405 - 06/25/2011 (d=176) 1800
- Loaded MAWN Program - AACF (hourly collection cycle)

- Loaded MAWN Program - AACF (60-minute power cycle) [0004]
- Communication converted to broadband cell-modem:
- Broadband cell-ip modem installed
- Datalogger progam "mawn_aacs" loaded and compiled.
- Battery voltage now reported every hour.
- Data collection configured to upload every 30 minutes.
- General station maintenance and system checks, including:
- Soil Moisture sensors now installed vertically:
- MSTR 0: profile of depth = 0 - 12"
- MSTR 1: profile of depth = 12 - 24"
- Work was done approx: 14:00 (Day=135)
- Faulty Wind Speed Data (see note from 10/05/2005 below) was
removed from the MAWN database. Wind Speed collected during
the following time period was marked as "missing".
From: 08/20/2004 (Day=233) 9:50
To: 10/05/2005 (Day=278) 10:55
- Replaced anemometer (10:30am). This sensor had been out
of service since 08/20/2004.
- Tightened wires for Soil Moisture B - were extremely loose
which may have lead to some missing data.
- Power leads to CR10X from battery were also very loose.
These have also been tightened.
- Checked all sensors.
- Routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Soil Moisture leads connected to the datalogger were
cleaned up. No sensors were replaced.
Phone Number: (see setup notes)
- Archived data set should be setup to ensure that
the first day of record is complete. To do so,
use the following as the start of the the data
archive:
24 hour data: 24:00, Day=127 (05/07/2002)
60 min data: 01:00, Day=127 (05/07/2002)
05 min data: 00:05, Day=127 (05/07/2002)
- Leaf Wetness A:
Installed on NE tripod leg (fence post). It is 35-inches
from the ground to the center of the wetness grid. May
need to install on a standard mount - did not have all of
the necessary components (see below).
- Leaf Wetness B:
Connected to datalogger, but not yet placed in canopy.
- Soil Temps:
Installed under bare ground. SW quadrant, near foot of
tripod leg:
Sensor A: 2-inch depth
Sensor B: 4-inch depth
- Soil Moistures:
Installed horizontally nder sod. SE qudrant, near foot of
tripod leg.
Sensor A: 10-cm depth
Sensor B: 25-cm depth
- Air Temp/RH:
HMP45C (requires mawn1b). Installation height approx. 59"
to 8th ring of radiation shield
- Wind Vane:
Points to North
- Anemometer:
Points to South
- Pyranometer:
Stand mounted to SW. Mounted high enough to keep shadow
from solar panel from falling on plate (e.g. bottom of
bracket should be approx. 39" above tripod bracket.
- Solar Panel:
Installed near the top of the mast, bracket sits approx.
six inches below coupling at the top of the mast. The
top edge of the solar panel must not exceed height of
the Pryanomter. Solar panel faces south with an angle
of about 44-degrees
