- Soil Moisture sensors now installed vertically:
- MSTR 0: profile of depth = 0 - 12"
- MSTR 1: profile of depth = 12 - 24"
- Work was done approx: 1500 - 1600 (Day=221)
- Added hourly battery voltage (logging of the hourly
voltage data actually started at 3:00pm on April 04,
2008 (d=095).
- Installed wireless broadband modem. This was done
to correct recent troubles with local land line
modem. [12:30]
- Established communication to wireless broadband
modem using LoggerNet. [14:00]
- Loaded MAWN Program: AACF (hourly schedule) [14:15]
- Funnel to the tipping bucket on the rain gauge was
plugged. Debris was removed and obstruction was
cleared this afternoon (10/03/05 - Day=276)
- CR10 Datalogger for the Pigeon MAWN station failed at 17:35 on
April 15, 2005 (Day=105) and was replaced with a CR10X at 12:15
on April 20, 2005 (Day=110). All data was lost while the
datalogger was down.
- Faulty Air Temp/RH Data Marked As Missing For the Following
Records:
08/06/04 (day=219) 10:40 - 08/12/2004 (day=225) 14:20
- Faulty Soilt Temp A (2") and Soil Temp B (4") Marked As Missing
For the Following Records:
08/07/04 (day=220) 15:00 - 08/12/2004 (day=225) 14:20
- Replaced Temperature/Relative Humidity Sensor (HMP45C).
The previous sensor had been reported errors since
08/06/2004 (day=219) 10:40
- Replaced Soil Temperature A (2"). The previous sensor
had been reporting errors since 08/07/2004 (day=220) 15:00
- Soil Temperature B (4") may still be bad - unable to replace
at this time.
- Installed new Anemometer
- Upgraded Temperature/Relative Humidity Sensor (HMP45C)
- Loaded new program to datalogger (MAWN1B). Previous
buffer was flushed. Lost data between 17:25 - 21:10.
Note: Daily Values (max/min) for this day (Day=216) only
included observations made after the new program
was loaded (i.e. time > 21:10).
- Cleared weeds around station and applied Round-Up above
soil temperature plot (SW quadrant)
- Daylight Savings Time Started on Day=97, Time=200.
- Time of Obs were modified by one hour (forward)
from Day=97, Time=200 through Day=97, Time=415.
- Daylight Savings Time Ended on Day=301, Time=200.
- Time of Obs were modified by one hour (subtracted)
from Day=301, Time=200 through Day=301, Time=610.
- Daylight Savings Time Ended on Day=303, Time=200.
- Time of Obs were modified by one hour (subtracted)
from Day=303, Time=200 through Day=304, Time=1615.
Only Observation Times were modified, not times of
Maxs and Mins. Users will need to take that into
consideration when using this data.
- Lost data from the datalogger while phone was out.
The following data is missing:
08/04/2000 (Day=217) Time=625
thru
08/08/2000 (Day=220) Time=2400
- Data Logger Start Time: 00:05, Day=202 (07/20/2000)
- Comments: Difficult to get to. Access lane along
drainage ditch plowed over and planted with
corn. Station located in a corner of a corn
field next to drainage ditch, southwest of
dairy farm.
Station tripod not installed in the normal
position with leg facing south. This station
instead appears to be installed with leg
facing east. Tripod Legs are mounted to
wooden blocks, so position was left the same.
However, did unbolt during update so wind
sentry and solar panel could be installed
without the need of a ladder. Lag-bolt
on northwest facing leg snapped as it was
very rusted. Lag-bolts on other two posts
were replaced.
General condition: Complete overhaul as
the existing station showed much wear.
Concern about possible microclimate
variabilities due to corn planted near
the station and very tall weeds that
covered the entire station plot. Appears
that no care is taken to clean weeds and
grass at the station site.
Updated station using datalogger and hardware
that was used and displayed at AgExpo 2000.
Modem was installed and RJ11 phone wire was
connected as was the interface cable. There
was a green tab for Power and Ground, but
nothing was connected as the installation
was done as other modems (e.g. Belding). Dial
tone verified active phone line, but after
returning from field, learned that modem
wasn't picking up.
